Week of celebration

Everyone at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center had a fun and entertaining week celebrating Skilled Nursing Care Week. It was different from years past, but memorable nonetheless.

“No time to siesta, today we Fiesta!” It was ‘nacho’ average party at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center. Everyone enjoyed day 2 of National Nursing Home Week.

Western Theme

To help celebrate National Skilled Nursing Care Week, staff and residents are having themes for each day. The first day is dedicated to a Western Theme with lots of flannel, cowboy/cowgirl hats, and “wanted poster” pictures. Staff and residents had a rootin tootin time.

Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center would like to thank their community partners that have donated lunch to the staff over the past few weeks. Bluegrass Care Navigators, Papa Johns, and McDonalds. The facility appreciates your kindness and support to all that work there.

Spring made an appearance at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center and its timing could not be more perfect. The residents enjoy seeing such beauty at the facility and brings many smiles to faces.

Residents at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center planted some flower seeds and are hoping to make a flower bed when this quarantine is over. A fun product to look forward to seeing in a few weeks.

Staff at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center would like to thank the Hazard Chamber of Commerce for sending pizza and cupcakes for lunch. Everyone really appreciates the support and generosity.

Activities for Seniors with dementia

When seniors with Alzheimer’s or dementia can’t participate in daily activities, they can easily become bored. Boredom can lead to agitation, anxiety, depression, and anger. It can increase their chances of sundowning. There are ways to prevent boredom with activities. This will get them engaged and help reduce their risk for need of medication for…
