The Governor’s statement in today’s 5 pm press conference that a nursing facility resident in Perry County tested positive for coronavirus is incorrect.
Per Scott Lockard, Public Health Director of Kentucky River District Health Department, the test in Perry County that Governor Beshear initially reported as positive, in fact, came back negative.
Please see the corrected information that was posted on the state’s official COVID website just a few minutes ago.
“In very good news, after further review the 90-year-old Perry County nursing home resident has tested negative.”
