He’s making a list and checking it twice; he’s going to find out who’s naughty and nice at Hazard Health and Rehab. Luckily, all of the children at the facility were on the nice list. Families of staff and residents brought their children to meet Ol’ Saint Nick and tell him what they hope he puts under the tree for Christmas.

The generous event hosted by Hazard HRC, follows a long tradition of children meeting the jolly old elf in the red suit. The tradition, which has become a rite of passage for children everywhere, started in 1890 when James Edgar made a custom red suit for his Massachusetts business and became the first ever department store Santa Claus.

For those witnessing the magical moment of children meeting Santa, it was a bright reminder and injection of Christmas spirit. There’s a sense of family at Hazard HRC and as they all shared in this heartwarming story, it served as inspiration to carry this feeling into 2018.
